Introducing specialist accountant for construction, Tracey Connor

Another of our sector specialists is Tracey Connor. Tracey is a Director of the firm and our Audit Compliance Director. She heads up our construction offering and specialises in working with small-to-medium-sized builders.

Building on success

Construction is a volatile industry which presents a range of challenges. Tracey has over 30 years experience successfully advising clients in this sector. She manages a substantial portfolio, including developers, house builders, general and specialist construction companies as well as, commercial and residential property investors.

For investors, property provides a solid way of converting money into fixed assets in order to deliver a positive return. Construction firms of all sizes are currently benefiting from increased demand for accommodation and an increasing number of renovations projects. In this environment it is important to get the business basics right, ensuring that companies capitalise on their strengths.

Strong foundations

Tracey initially trained in the London office of a national firm. She has a BSc and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987. She then worked in the fast-moving aerospace industry as a senior management accountant, before transferring into her first property focused role as Principal Financial Officer in a family-owned chain of estate agents. Prior to joining Chadwick & Company in 1997, Tracey worked as Principal Audit Manager with one of Manchester’s longest established independent accounting practices. Following several years heading up our audit wing, Tracey was appointed a Director of Chadwick & Company in 2012. She currently has responsibility for a wide portfolio of clients, ranging from small and medium-sized firms to large corporate entities. In addition to acting as an accountant for construction firms, Tracey’s other responsibilities include the statutory audit of large organisations in fields ranging from insurance to healthcare.

When away from the office Tracey enjoys holidays with her family, walking, visits to the theatre and is an avid book collector.
